Unit introduction, What are your initial thoughts and ideas.?
When I heard what subject we can choose for our second year I was really excited about wig work and postiche as I always had an interest in how to work with wigs and would watch youtubers do it all the time but couldn't really grasp it myself. I am hoping that doing this subject will help improve my skills in hair as I personally feel is what i lack in the most so I hope by the end of this subject my skills in hair is on a higher level and I can do hair with full confidence.
After reading the project brief I am even more excited about doing this subject as I love the fact that we are going to learn actually how to create our wigs and how it is all done and how to apply and style the wig for an performing artist. It is exciting to know that we will be going through each decade over the 100 years on how they did their hairstyle and i am looking forward to that as I love the 60's era with all the pinup hair and vintage styles and I am excited to be learning every era hairstyle as I believe these looks are continuously used even in this day and age with a new modern twist added to it.
Overall I am excited that I will be focusing more on hair and I am looking forward in knowing how to create my own wig and postiche.
